Master Wiresmith Rod Layden
After graduating from college in Minnesota, with a degree in Theatrical Design, our Master Wiresmith Rod Layden became accomplished in Victorian wood carving and stained glass.
He and his wife of 53 years, Dee, now own and operate Ocean Sky Beads in Carlsbad California, where he brings his attention to detail, creativity, and theatrical flair into his love of specialty wirework.
I walked into their shop almost 3 years ago, with an inspired idea for a necklace, and there was an instant creative connection. And now they are part of my Family.
My very favorite aspect of the design process is workshopping & collaborating on a new piece. With Rod’s knowledge of wire engineering and Dee’s eye for fine crystals and turquoise, they are an irreplaceable part of the TamRocks Team!
